The Bad Art Fundraiser is now over. Join our mailing list for FOAS news, including 2026 Bad Art updates!
This delightfully quirky tradition rallies hundreds of volunteer artists to turn your pet photos into one-of-a-kind masterpieces — all while supporting FOAS (Friends of Oakland Animal Services), to provide funding for lifesaving programs and essential supplies for Oakland’s shelter animals.
Each portrait is created by one of our 500+ volunteer artists, ranging from enthusiastic first-timers to seasoned pros. We call it “Bad Art,” but some of it is surprisingly great — and it’s always unique, heartfelt, and often hilarious.
💌 How It Works:
- Donate on our Bad Art website anytime between July 26 and August 6
- Give $30: For one custom digital pet portrait
- Give $50: For two custom digital pet portraits
You can get one for yourself, and send someone a gift! Just provide their email and we’ll reach out to them for a photo.
Then, wait for the magic!
Portraits are delivered digitally to the email you provide. Due to high demand, delivery may take until the end of September — but we promise, it’ll be worth it!
