Looking to lend a hand? Friends of Oakland Animal Services relies on volunteers to support our work! Check out our open volunteer positions below:
- Bad Art artist volunteer: Volunteer “artists” draw pet portraits during our annual Bad Art fundraiser. You don’t need any prior experience, you just need a desire to get creative! Using a reference photo provided to you, you’ll create a custom piece of art for a pet. We call it “Bad Art” because we can never predict what an artist will create, that will be up to you! More details on the role here.
- Bad Art administrative volunteer: We have different roles that help manage the administrative side of running the Bad Art fundraiser, such as managing portrait requests/questions and picking up and shipping artwork. Thanks to our brand-new Bad Art website, tracking and managing assignments will be easier than ever. More details on the role here.
Please email us at badart@friendsofoas.org if you’re interested in volunteering for an admin role for this Bad Art Fundrasier. In your email, include the role(s) you are most interested in.
- Data entry/data cleaning: help us keep our data organized; requires strong attention to detail and experience with Google Sheets/Excel. Experience with Salesforce is also very helpful.
- Website volunteer: help maintain and update our website; requires WordPress proficiency.
- Systems/tech volunteer: we’re currently looking for volunteers with Mailchimp proficiency to help provide advice and support on best practices for managing our email list/campaigns.
To volunteer for the roles above, sign up here.
We are also currently looking for volunteers to help with one-time or occasional tasks (e.g. picking up donations, distributing/posting flyers, transporting supplies to events, etc.). If you’re interested in helping out, please complete our short-term volunteer form.
