Dear FOAS Community,
Please join me in welcoming Robin Wiedner as our new Executive Director!
Robin is a dedicated OAS volunteer and has served on the FOAS board of directors. She is passionate in her commitment to Oakland’s animals and has demonstrated her intelligent, hard-working and collaborative style in all that she has taken on. Robin brings a long history of nonprofit organizational leadership, including many years as a Director at Planned Parenthood.
In Robin’s words, “I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to help lead FOAS and build on the lifesaving work the organization does for Oakland’s animals and community. FOAS has transformed outcomes at OAS through innovative programs, community support, and an unwavering commitment to lifesaving, made possible by an incredibly passionate team and the generous support of our donors. It will be an honor to work alongside such talented, dedicated, and resilient individuals across FOAS and OAS, including staff, volunteers, and the FOAS board. I look forward to learning from all of you.”
Robin will begin her new role on May 26. As she comes on board, please look out for communications from Robin and for opportunities to meet her.
As we welcome Robin, we express our gratitude to Avi Rose for having served as our Interim Executive Director during this transitional time. Thank you, Avi!
We are thrilled and proud to have someone of Robin’s caliber at the helm. We’re confident that all of you will enjoy working with her as we move forward together in providing health, homes and happiness to Oakland’s animals in need.
With Excitement and Appreciation,
Trish Roque
President, FOAS Board of Directors
