Director
Alison Campbell brings a deep commitment to community service, health, and animal welfare to her role on the Board of Directors for Friends of Oakland Animal Services. As the founder and CEO of Truve, a 25,000 sq. ft. wellness facility in Oakland, Alison has built a career around empowering others through movement, resilience, and compassionate care—values that carry seamlessly into her advocacy for animals.
Alison and her husband, Dennis, are long-time fosters and passionate supporters of Oakland Animal Services. Together, they’ve opened their home to countless puppies—and even a few senior small dogs—providing the love, socialization, and structure needed to help them thrive and find forever homes. Their rescued Yorkie, Kash, is a beloved travel companion who joins them on global adventures as they explore new cultures, cuisines, and landscapes.
A former elite track and field athlete turned strength and conditioning specialist, Alison channels the same dedication and drive that once fueled her athletic career into every project she touches—whether it’s building inclusive fitness programs for Oakland residents or ensuring vulnerable animals receive the second chance they deserve.
Alison believes that every animal, like every person, deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported. Her work on the board is rooted in this belief and powered by her unwavering commitment to making Oakland a more compassionate place for both people and pets.
